Open Transport 1.3 Setup
To
set up OT/PPP, first configure the TCP/IP control panel, then
the Modem control panel, and finally the PPP control
panel.
Configuring
the TCP/IP Control Panel
- From
the Apple menu, point to Control Panels and choose TCP/IP.
- Set
Connect via to PPP.
- In
the name server address box type 216.2.102.2 and 216.2.101.232,
each on a different line.
- In
the Starting domain name text box, type anet.net
- From
the File menu, choose Close.
- Click
the Save button.
Configuring
the Modem Control Panel
- From
the Apple menu, point to Control Panels and choose Modem.
- Choose
your modem from the Modem list. If you modem brand is not listed,
consult your modem documentation to install it.
- From
the File menu, choose Close.
- Click
the Save button.
Configuring
the PPP Control Panel
- From
the Apple menu, point to Control Panels and choose PPP.
- In
the Name text box, type your username.
- In
the Password text box, type your password.
- In
the Number text box, type a local aNet access number.
- Click
the Connect button.
Open
Transport 1.0 Setup
- From
the menu bar, click the Apple menu items and select Control Panels.
- Double-click
the PPP icon.
- Verify
the Name text box has your username
- Verify
the Password and Number text boxes.
- Click
the Options button.
- Select
the Redialing tab.
- For
the Redial option, select Redial main number only.
- Enter
a number in the Redial times field.
- Select
the Connection tab.
- Put
a check in Use verbose logging.
- Do
not check the Prompt every 5 minutes to maintain connection option.
- Select
the Protocol tab.
- Put
a check in Use TCP header compression.
- Click
the OK button.
- Click
the File Menu and select Quit.
- Click
Save to save changes.
