Open Transport 1.3 Setup

To set up OT/PPP, first configure the TCP/IP control panel, then the Modem control panel, and finally the PPP control panel.

 

Configuring the TCP/IP Control Panel

  1. From the Apple menu, point to Control Panels and choose TCP/IP.
  2. Set Connect via to PPP.
  3. In the name server address box type 216.2.102.2 and 216.2.101.232, each on a different line.
  4. In the Starting domain name text box, type anet.net
  5. From the File menu, choose Close.
  6. Click the Save button.

Configuring the Modem Control Panel

  1. From the Apple menu, point to Control Panels and choose Modem.
  2. Choose your modem from the Modem list. If you modem brand is not listed, consult your modem documentation to install it.
  3. From the File menu, choose Close.
  4. Click the Save button.

Configuring the PPP Control Panel

  1. From the Apple menu, point to Control Panels and choose PPP.
  2. In the Name text box, type your username.
  3. In the Password text box, type your password.
  4. In the Number text box, type a local aNet access number.
  5. Click the Connect button.

 

Open Transport 1.0 Setup

  1. From the menu bar, click the Apple menu items and select Control Panels.
  2. Double-click the PPP icon.
  3. Verify the Name text box has your username
  4. Verify the Password and Number text boxes.
  5. Click the Options button.
  6. Select the Redialing tab.
  7. For the Redial option, select Redial main number only.
  8. Enter a number in the Redial times field.
  9. Select the Connection tab.
  10. Put a check in Use verbose logging.
  11. Do not check the Prompt every 5 minutes to maintain connection option.
  12. Select the Protocol tab.
  13. Put a check in Use TCP header compression.
  14. Click the OK button.
  15. Click the File Menu and select Quit.
  16. Click Save to save changes.
