Does aNET support third level domains (myname.yourdomain.com)?

Yes. aNet charges the same fees for hosting third level domain names.

Do I have Shell privileges?

Yes. You have access to a secure shell. See How To Use Telnet.

How do I get my Website stats?

aNet statistics must be activated by contacting support.

You can view your stats By connecting to http://yourdomain.com/siteadmin

Go to Site Usage click on Web. You can downloade the log files for your own processing. aNet provides a very basic Web statistics at no charge. For more detailed web stats contact aNet sales .

Can custom reports be generated from raw log files?

aNet's statistic analyzer cannot be custom-configured for individual customers. It is possible for you to run your own web stat software for your site. Please contact us at support@anet.net if you would like to use your own log software.

How do I get my main page to load automatically?

You must name your main page index.html or index.htm. All your files must be located in your Web directory. Be sure to name your files with lowercase letters and no spaces.

What filenames are acceptable?

The UNIX operating system is case sensitive. To prevent errors, we suggest naming all files with lowercase letters. Spaces and special control characters are generally not a good idea. The underscore character ("_") is acceptable.

How do I create sub-directories within my website?

You can use the "make directory" feature in FTP client software or use the Create New Directory option in Fetch.

How do I access my Web Admin?

http://yourdomain.com/siteadmin

What is the function of the CGI-bin directory?

This directory allows you to execute a CGI script written in Perl. Perl programs are self-compiling and can be utilized immediately after transfer to this directory.

Can I password protect directories?
